Custom FIBC Jumbo Bags for Dry Bulk Materials

XH Packaging manufactures FIBC jumbo bags, also called bulk bags, big bags or ton bags, for storing and transporting dry bulk solids. Made from high-strength woven polypropylene, the bags can be customized for 200-2,000 kg capacities, 120-230 gsm fabric, different lifting-loop arrangements, open or controlled filling tops, flat or discharge bottoms, 5:1 or 6:1 safety factors, PE coating, PE liners, UV treatment and printed identification. Final construction follows the material, bulk density, filling method, lifting equipment, discharge process and storage route. Standard configurations are for dry bulk solids, not free liquids.

Specify the Bag from the Bulk Material

Products with the same net weight can fill an FIBC very differently. Fertilizer, plastic pellets, sand, cement powder and minerals vary in density, flow, particle size and abrasion. These properties affect bag volume, fabric weight, seams, filling opening, discharge design and filled shape. The specification should therefore begin with the material and handling route, then confirm capacity and dimensions.
A sample or trial fill with the actual product is the clearest way to check filled dimensions, stability, closure access and equipment compatibility. It can also reveal whether a powder needs a more closed structure or whether a free-flowing product needs a different discharge arrangement.

Match Filling, Discharge and Lifting

An open top suits manual or broad-chute filling; a duffle top can be gathered and tied; a filling spout provides a more controlled connection to compatible equipment. The choice depends on the filler, spout dimensions, line speed, dust-control objective and closing method. If a liner is used, its opening and attachment must be coordinated with the outer top so it does not fold into the product stream or closing area.
A flat bottom keeps the design simple, while a discharge spout supports controlled gravity emptying into a hopper, mixer or downstream process. Star or iris closures are available, but spout dimensions, tie method and access space must match the receiving equipment. Lifting loops are part of the load-bearing structure; their arrangement should be specified for the approved forklift or crane method. Filled shape, pallet size, fork access and container loading should be checked together before production.

Confirm Load, Safety Factor and Protection

The 200-2,000 kg range is a reference starting point, not a stand-alone performance promise. Safe working load, fabric weight, panel dimensions, seams, lifting loops, top, bottom and safety factor work together as one design. XH Packaging can review 5:1 or 6:1 requirements against the intended application and the customer's inspection or testing plan. The approved specification should identify the material, target load, handling method, construction and required markings.
PE coating reduces moisture transfer through the woven surface, while an inserted PE liner adds a separate inner barrier. Liner size, thickness, opening and attachment must work with filling and discharge; these options do not automatically make the package airtight or waterproof. UV treatment is available when outdoor exposure is defined. Hazardous, regulated or specially classified products need separate packaging and testing requirements approved for the material and destination market.

2:Food ingredients: sugar, salt, nuts and other dry ingredients, subject to the approved contact configuration.
3:Construction: sand, gravel, cement and stone powder.
4:Plastics and industry: plastic granules, resin, additives and dry powders.
5:Minerals and recycling: ores, mineral products and suitable dry bulk recyclable materials.
The standard range is for dry bulk solids. Free liquids and applications with special dangerous-goods, electrostatic, contamination-control or regulatory requirements need a separately engineered and verified specification.

Printing, Quality Control and Order Planning

Lifting loops are part of the FIBC's load-bearing structure, not a separate accessory. Their dimensions and arrangement should be specified for the approved forklift or crane method. Filled bags may also be moved on pallets with pallet jacks, so pallet size, fork access, loop reach and operator clearance should be reviewed as one handling plan. The approved lifting method should remain consistent from filling through warehouse movement and unloading.
Bag width and length influence center of gravity, stack footprint and container utilization. An oversized bag may bulge and use floor space inefficiently, while an undersized bag can be difficult to close or may place unnecessary stress on the top and seams. A filled sample helps confirm the final shape before the customer commits to a pallet pattern or container-loading plan.

Confirm Capacity and Safety Factor as One Design

Logos, product identification and shipping marks can be printed on the approved bag area. The buyer approves the final legal, safety and product text, while XH Packaging checks printable area and production feasibility. Production controls cover weaving, cutting, sewing and finishing. Order-level checks may include material, fabric weight, dimensions, loop and seam details, top and bottom construction, print position, liner configuration, packing and any agreed load or handling tests. A signed sample, drawing or written specification guides bulk and repeat orders.
