PP Woven Sand Bags

XH Packaging manufactures PP woven sand bags for flood control, road work, construction sites, soil filling and temporary barriers. Empty bags are compact to store and distribute before filling. Size, fabric weight, color and seams are selected from target fill, handling, abrasion, sunlight exposure and service duration rather than a general “heavy-duty” label.
  • Lightweight woven polypropylene keeps empty flood control sandbags practical to store, transport and issue to crews.
  • A 40–90 gsm reference range supports different short-term, construction and extended-placement requirements.
  • Heat-cut or hemmed tops can be selected for rapid filling and the chosen field-closing method.
  • Single- or double-folded bottoms with suitable stitching are matched to target fill and handling conditions.
  • UV treatment is available when the expected sunlight exposure, climate and service period are defined.
  • White, green, black or custom colors and simple flexographic marks support stock and site identification.

Select Fabric Weight for the Actual Service

Short-term flood response with limited handling may use a lighter construction within the available range. Rough filling, abrasive soil, repeated repositioning or longer outdoor placement can justify a higher fabric weight. Size and fill level matter as much as gsm: a larger bag or a bag packed too tightly places different stress on its fabric and seams. XH Packaging therefore reviews dimensions, filling material, expected handling and deployment period together.
Fabric weight is normally specified within 40–90 gsm. Heavier constructions, including requests around 100 gsm, are custom and require factory confirmation before quotation or sampling.

6
Plan Filling, Handling and Barrier Placement

Sandbags used in a flood barrier normally need enough flexibility to conform to adjacent bags. Overfilling can make placement difficult, reduce overlap and increase seam stress. Manual flood-control filling has no universal weight: buyers should follow local emergency or engineering procedures and confirm fill level from bag dimensions, material density, crew handling limits and a deployment trial. The separate 10–100 kg nominal range applies only to industrial sand or soil sack applications and still requires product and handling review.
A heat-cut mouth provides fast access during filling. A hemmed top offers a finished edge where the closing method requires it. Bags may be tied, sewn or folded according to the operating plan. Bottom fold and stitching should be approved against the intended fill, lifting method and whether the bags will be moved by a crew or suitable equipment.

6
Define Outdoor Exposure Before Adding UV Treatment

Polypropylene can lose strength during prolonged ultraviolet exposure. If empty inventory or filled bags will remain in sunlight, provide the expected period, climate and storage arrangement. UV treatment should be specified for those conditions, with performance confirmed for the approved construction. Coating or an inserted PE liner may be discussed for special dry-storage or buyer-defined applications, but these additions can change flexibility, filling speed and cost and are not the central feature of most flood control sandbags.

6
Color, Printing and Project Packing

Color can separate inventory by size, owner, location, stock batch or planned use date. Simple flexographic printing is usually sufficient for a logo, site code or identification mark; complex retail artwork rarely adds value to a project sand bag. Bundle quantities should match how crews receive and issue empty bags so that emergency inventory can be counted and distributed efficiently.

6
Factory Support and Quality Control

XH Packaging operates 25,000 square meters of production workshops and warehouses. Its process covers PP tape production, weaving, printing, laminating and bag converting. Sand-bag inspection can include dimensions, fabric weight, tensile performance, seam and bottom construction, print clarity, color reference and packing quantity. A signed sample establishes size, seam, color and marking. Forecast quantity, bundle format and delivery window support project scheduling.

Information Needed for a Quotation

  • Intended use and whether the bags are planned inventory or for a specific deployment
  • Empty bag dimensions, filling material and proposed fill weight
  • Short-term or extended placement, climate and expected sunlight exposure
  • Manual or mechanical filling, closing, lifting and repositioning methods
  • Preferred fabric weight, color, identification print and UV requirement
  • Bundle size, total quantity, delivery window and destination
  • Local engineering or emergency requirements that affect filling and placement

Prepare the Right Sandbag Before the Site Needs It

Tell XH Packaging how the bags will be filled, handled and stored before deployment. We will compare size, fabric weight, seam, color and UV options, then quote a confirmed construction and bundle format for your flood response or site program.

PP Woven Sandbags FAQ

1. Do flood-control sandbags need UV treatment?

UV treatment is recommended when empty or filled sandbags will face sustained sunlight. The required level depends on climate, storage arrangement and expected exposure period. Provide those conditions so performance can be assessed for the selected construction.

2. How should I choose between 40 gsm and 90 gsm fabric?

Choose fabric weight from bag dimensions, proposed fill, abrasiveness, handling frequency and outdoor duration. Lighter fabric may suit controlled short-term use, while rough handling or longer placement may justify a higher weight; constructions around 100 gsm require factory confirmation. Test the selected sandbags under the intended filling and handling method.

3. What filling weight should I use for flood-control sandbags?

There is no universal filling weight for every sandbag size or crew. Follow local emergency or engineering procedures and consider bag dimensions, material density and crew handling limits. Validate the fill level, overlap and placement in a deployment trial.

4. Can sandbags be color-coded or printed for different sites?

Yes, fabric colors and simple flexographic marks can identify size, owner, site, batch or deployment purpose. Feasibility depends on the color reference, print area, artwork and quantity. Send those details so printing feasibility, setup and schedule can be quoted.

5. Are coated or PE-lined sandbags better for flood control?

Not necessarily; coating and liners are mainly used for defined dry-storage or special applications. Flood-control performance also depends on fill level, overlap, placement and the site plan. Review flexibility and filling through a trial before adding either option.
