Custom Building Material Bags

XH Packaging produces PP woven building material bags for putty powder, tile adhesive, dry mortar, gypsum powder, lime powder, cement-based mixes and other dry construction products. The bag is specified around the material, filling weight and packing line rather than selected by size alone. Available structures include plain woven, coated, printed laminated and PE-lined bags.
  • Woven PP combines low empty-bag weight with the strength required for filling, stacking and transport.
  • Fabric weight and weave density can be matched to powder fineness, bulk density and handling conditions.
  • Plain, coated, laminated and PE-lined constructions are available for different leakage, barrier and printing needs.
  • •Open-mouth, valve and selected block-bottom formats can be reviewed against manual, semi-automatic or automatic filling equipment.
  • •Flexographic printing can carry product identification, mixing instructions, batch fields and handling information.
  • •Bag dimensions, closing details and seam strength can be confirmed through samples and filling trials before bulk production.

Start with the Material, Not a Standard Sack

Dry construction products do not behave alike inside a packing line. Fine putty powder can work through an open weave or sewing line, while a coarse mortar mix puts more stress on the fabric and bottom seam. Tile adhesive may require cleaner powder control, and gypsum or lime products may need a structure selected for the actual storage route. Even when two products have the same net weight, their bulk densities can produce different filled-bag dimensions.
A plain PP woven bag is often adequate for a coarse, dry product moving through controlled storage and short-distance distribution. Coating closes the woven surface and can reduce powder passage through the fabric. An inserted PE liner creates a separate inner layer when additional protection from ambient moisture or fine-particle leakage is needed. The liner fit and opening must work with filling and sewing; an unsuitable liner can slow the line or fold into the closing area.
For detailed retail or export artwork, a laminated printed surface can be reviewed. The final choice should follow the product and sales channel rather than the number of available print colors.

Open-mouth bags suit many manual and semi-automatic operations. A heat-cut or cold-cut mouth offers a simple opening, while a hemmed mouth gives a neater edge and better resistance to fraying. The bottom can be single- or double-folded and sewn with one or two lines. Sealing tape may be added when powder passage at the seam is a concern.
Automatic dry-mix lines may use an open-mouth system, a sewn valve or a block-bottom valve format. The filler model, nozzle or spout dimensions, target line speed and closing method should be reviewed before a format is selected. Cement plants using high-speed valve filling and buyers packing sand or gravel can also use dedicated cement or sand specifications, while this page remains the main reference for other dry building mixes.

Size, Stacking and Storage Conditions

Bag width and length must fit the filling nozzle, conveyor guides and closing station as well as the nominal capacity. A bag that is too large can fill loosely and form an unstable stack; one that is too small may be difficult to close or place excessive stress on the seam. Trial filling is particularly important when the buyer changes equipment, product formulation or bag structure.
Coating and liners can reduce normal moisture exposure, but the packed product still requires dry warehousing and protected transport. For port storage, sea freight or humid destinations, buyers should provide the expected journey and warehouse conditions so the barrier structure can be reviewed as one part of the complete storage plan.

Printing and Order-Level Quality Checks

Flexographic printing is suitable for logos, product grades, net weights, mixing directions and straightforward technical information. Artwork should allow for the side folds, bottom seam and curvature of the filled bag. Space can be reserved for a batch code or production date added after delivery.
Checks for an approved order may include fabric weight, weave consistency, print color and position, coating or lamination bond, opening dimensions and bottom-seam strength. The acceptance criteria should be agreed against the approved sample and any filling or drop test used by the buyer.

Build the Bag Around Your Dry-Mix Line

Tell us what you pack, how the product flows and where dust, moisture or stacking creates difficulty. XH Packaging can compare practical open-mouth and valve constructions, prepare a sample specification and refine the dimensions from an actual filling trial before the production order is approved.

Building Material Bags FAQ

1. Should bags for putty powder or tile adhesive use a coating or PE liner?

Use a coating to reduce powder passage through the weave, or a PE liner when a separate inner barrier is needed. Particle size, abrasiveness, humidity, transport time and closing method affect the choice. Test the proposed structure with the actual powder.

2. Can building material bags run on an automatic filling line?

Yes, when the opening, dimensions and fabric behavior match the equipment. Depending on the line, the bag may use an open-mouth, sewn-valve or block-bottom valve format. Send the filler model, nozzle or spout measurements, target speed and a bag sample.

3. How should fabric weight be selected for dry mortar?

Select fabric weight from bulk density, particle texture, bag size, stacking height and handling conditions, not fill weight alone. A filled-bag or drop test is the best way to compare the proposed fabric and seam.

4. Can mixing instructions and batch fields be printed on the bag?

Yes. Flexographic printing can include product names, grades, net weight, mixing directions, handling marks and blank batch fields. Provide the artwork so folds, seams and the filled-bag shape can be considered.

5. Are dry-mix building material bags the same as cement valve bags?

Not always. Some structures overlap, but high-speed cement lines require closer control of valve geometry, air release and pallet shape. Share the powder, filling method and line details to identify the suitable format.
